Context & Challenges

The Generative Consumer Model (GCM) MVP was driven by the urgent need to prove technical feasibility and business value under tight timelines. Stakeholders needed a live demo to showcase the potential of probabilistic consumer models, which are difficult for non-technical audiences to conceptualize. The challenge was two fold:

Business Urgency

Deliver a credible, testable MVP within one month, using a lean team, for use in field demos and investor/partner conversations.

Technical Risk

Integrate a novel architecture (LLM + MCP + GCM) while mitigating confabulation and ensuring outputs aligned with market-validated data.

Constraints included limited resources (2 engineers, 1 data scientist, 1 contractor, and 1 PM) and the need to validate core capabilities in a way that was both demonstrable and applicable to stakeholders.

Problem & Solution

The MVP needed to bridge a critical gap: fragmented consumer data limited what existing models could do, and stakeholders struggled to grasp the value of probabilistic insights. The challenge was to prove technical feasibility while also making these concepts tangible through a live, resonant demo.

Why should I care?

Feasibility & Value: Consumer datasets are fragmented and incomplete, and existing models could not reliably impute missing values or generate probabilistic insights at scale. Stakeholders also struggled to conceptualize how probabilistic modeling applied to their work, making it difficult to demonstrate real-world value.

Solution

Built and delivered a live demo that showcased GCM’s capabilities—imputations, probability queries, and comparisons—while sourcing relevant datasets to ensure customer resonance.

What does it do?

Conceptual gap: Stakeholders struggled to understand how probabilistic models generate insights versus deterministic systems.

Solution

Built a functional MVP demo by connecting the GCM to LibreChat via the Multiple Context Protocol (MCP), enabling selectable LLM agents.

Architected the system with Docker to containerize components, ensuring reproducibility and rapid iteration.

How can I use it?

Demonstration challenge: We needed to prove that GCM could integrate with LLMs and deliver insights in real-world, user-facing workflows—while avoiding confabulation and misalignment.

Solution

Designed and ran a structured evaluation framework to validate the reliability of outputs, mitigate confabulation, and tie results back to business outcomes (system reliability, product–market fit, proof-of-concept conversion).

Discovery & Process

Conducted external discovery with prospective partners leveraging a user research survey and independently coded research prototype to validate pain points around fragmented consumer data. 

Sourced market-validated datasets to ground the demo in customer-relevant scenarios.

Identified best showcase of probabilistic modeling, to aid users in conceptualizing its value.

Designed evaluation framework to test reliability, mitigate confabulation, and validate user value.

Iterated findings back into architecture and demo design.

Ideation & Development

The project demanded orchestration across multiple personas and user types, as well as alignment between disparate internal teams. To drive execution, I applied a blended project management approach: Agile with engineering to deliver iterative platform integrations, Kanban with contractors to manage tagging and bulk uploads, and Critical Path Methodology to scope dependencies and lock in launch dates. This framework allowed me to phase delivery, prioritize high-value milestones, and ensure cross-functional accountability under tight deadlines.

 

Through a structured yet flexible approach, I successfully navigated the complexity of technical standards adoption, coordinated provider and institutional requirements, and delivered a scalable marketplace experience aligned to target launch dates .

Impact

To measure the success of the GCM MVP, I defined clear criteria that reflected both technical reliability and business impact. These metrics ensured the demo was not only stable and accurate but also resonated with partners and stakeholders. The metrics below highlights the key achievements and their significance.

Secured 4 pilot commitments based on the demo and 5 follow-on engagements

Up from previously zero, this showed that the MVP translated into pipeline or traction

Positive feedback score (average rating ≥ 4.5/5) from demo participants on clarity and utility

Provided qualitative validation of framing and usability

Achieved 97% alignment in evaluation tests 

Able to successfully limit LLM interpretation on demo user modes (segmentation, probability of, uncovering hidden variable)  

Delivered MVP in 1 month with a lean team

Emphasized delivery speed and resource efficiency of high-performing team (2 engineer, 1 data scientist).

Collected feature requests from 100% of research participants

Indicated that the MVP generated future roadmap ideas and interest; successfully overcoming conceptual barriers.

Established a modular architecture pipeline for future expansion

Created a foundation to make the system extensible for next phases
